Numbers Of Our Life
Like it or not we always involved with numbers. Since the beginning of our life time till the end of it we are always connected to them. We are bound and limited by them; we even got respect and disrespect by the numbers attached to our selves. Strange, but we can’t get rid of those numbers, we are living on an era which is represented by numbers. Our values and grades are shown by numbers, our health, wealth and at the end of our time beside our names numbers will be shown in our tombstones.
Today is my birthday, a new number is attached to me ow. A new age, a higher level that represented by numbers. A level? Yes, a level that shows how old I am. A number that show my position in my own life. In a short term; I got older and closer to the ‘finish line’. That’s why sometime I wonder, why people celebrate their birthdays, is there any special purpose? Don’t they realize that their lifetime is shorter now? So what are they celebrating? They’re not getting younger, are they? They should mourn! We love higher digits in salaries, size specs of our properties, school grades, heights and other things that if they have more digits than they are better. But, should we apply the same thing to our age? Should we be happy that we are older? When wrinkles start to multiply, grey hair said hello, your head losing hair and your body is slowing down?
Despite of those questions, remembering your birthday is a good moment to look back at our achievements, memories, mistakes, to take a moment to remember our purpose of life and put a big note that your time is wearing off. Gather friends and family to wish good things for us. Though some people see if differently, and take it as a glamorous yearly event that they feel it’s too important to be neglected to show something off to their friends.
Well like they say, life is just a blink of an eye. 20 felt like it was yesterday, suddenly you are mid 30’s, tomorrow you’ll be 50.
…..
Fifteen…
There’s still time for you,
Time to buy and time loose,
Fifteen…
There’s never a wish better than this,
When you only got a hundred years to live,..
Half time goes by,
Suddenly your wise,
Another blink of an eye 67 has gone,
The sun is getting high,
We’re moving on…
