American Idol Finalists: When Looks Push Aside Talents
I was quiet disappointed when Lakisha have to step down from the stage previous week,but at that time I still have Melinda Doolittle to be at the top three and confident that she would make it to the finale. But I got disappointed again,when Melinda had to go home either. Her perfect voice was ignored, her talent was underrated lower than Blake and Jordin. I remember Simon said once that Lakisha and Melinda are on a different league compared to the rest of the contestants.
I don’t mind Blake goes to the finale coz I like his originality and improvisations. He was the most outstanding male contestant both in style and quality, but Jordin? what does she have? Her voice was good but not as good as Melinda and Lakisha. Sometimes she couldn’t reach a proper note. Well it’s must be her look gives her the luck.
Sad, when people pick someone from his/her package only, especially on such programme. Suddenly somebody’s voice is unimportant if he/she is not physically perfect. Look and appreance become the king. What suprised me was it happened in USA, where audiences should be more respect someone or performer from his/her performance and quality instead of their appearance. Sigh.
Well what can I do? What’s done is done. Just feel sorry when someone who should win had to lost only because of looks. Melinda, no matter how unperfect you are in looks, your voice is perfect and you are the true winner for me.
Hiahaha,ada yang berduka cita berat atas kepergian Lakisha dan Melinda..It’s OK lah zak…Jordin is the winner of AI 2007 but look who’s the winner after the crown lahhhh
