Cerita Dari Dunia SMS: Sorry Dear, iPod Stands In Our Way
An SMS ring tone broke my morning silence that day. It’s from Tina a girl that I’ve been expected to see again after two months of nothing but SMS’ and chats.
TINA: Hi Andy! How are you? I’m back in Jakarta after holiday in Singapore. Wanna Meet?
ANDY: Hei babe! Thought you’ve erased me…Sure I’d love to. Friday?
TINA: Oh, how could I erase you, you are sooo my type…Miss you a lot. Can we meet sooner?
ANDY: Ahh…I miss you too dear. Sooner? Ok! Tomorrow around five. Where?
TINA: Plaza Indonesia, is it Ok for you?
ANDY: Ok. We’ll confirm again tomorrow. C u!
Oh…her message made my day. I like her, not only ‘coz she’s pretty but also sexy and so curious about being my girl friend. We talked a lot on our chats, about what we wanted from each other and about those three little words too…you know what I mean.
The next day I groomed myself well in the morning. I shaved my face but let my chin still a bit goatee. She likes stubble guy so I don’t want to look so plain. Pick a nice shirt and pour extra amount of perfume to it so the smell will last longer. Then I go to work as usual.
Around four she SMS me.
TINA: Are you already on your way dear?
ANDY: Not yet, will leave in half an hour. It’s not so far from here; I’ll be there in 20 minutes by busway.
TINA: What are you wearing today? Must be so sexy…
ANDY: You’ll see, I’m sure you’ll like it. Are you already on the way?
TINA: Not yet, I’m still preparing myself. C u there hunny!
So, while I wait for half past four. I played games on my PC. I was so excited. Almost four thirty an SMS arrived.
TINA: Dear, my dad asked me to teach him how to use Ipod. I can’t meet you today. Sorry.
What??? I got speechless. What a cute reason…
ANDY: Oh. Is Ipod so urgent for your father that will make him dead if you don’t teach him today?
My hands were shaking of anger while I wrote that SMS.
Not long a very simple irresponsible reply came.
TINA: Sorry. I just try to be a good daughter dear…
ANDY: Be my guest. It’s just the greatest reason (or excuse) that I’ve got so far for canceling a date on it’s last minute. If your father was a wise man he’ll know the importance of an appointment and won’t stand in your way.
Later I started to be unsure that her father is too shallow to be so demanding of teaching him to use Ipod at instance. Something’s wrong with that girl
She didn’t answer my last message. I didn’t know whether she agrees or feel guilty. I was so upset and angry but nothing I could say or do, then something crossed my mind; that beautiful and sexy girl is a freak and I don’t think I wanna see her again soon.
